About
The person who treats your premises, and how he works.
Pest control is a trade you have to take on trust, because most of the work happens in places you cannot see. This is who does it, where the training comes from, and how chemicals are handled around food and children.
Who runs Terminix
Owner
Tibwere Tauman
Terminix Services Kiribati is run by Tibwere Tauman, who spent over a decade working in pest control in New Zealand before bringing the trade home.
He trained there and worked to the standards a regulated industry expects: identifying a species before treating it, placing product where it will actually reach the population, and keeping a record of what was used and where. That is the same way he works here.
He came back to Kiribati because the expertise was needed at home. Most pest problems on the atolls are dealt with informally, and there is a real difference between scattering bait and treating an infestation properly. He does the work himself, so the person who inspects your premises is the person who treats it.
What that means for you
Trained in New Zealand
Learned the trade in a regulated market, where identification, safe application and record keeping are the baseline rather than the exception.
Over a decade in the trade
Long enough to have seen how infestations actually behave over a season, rather than treating each call as an isolated problem.
Professional equipment
The application and monitoring equipment the job needs, rather than what happens to be available locally.
Chemicals around food and children
The part of the job you should be asking about.
If you run a kitchen, a shop or a school, the question that matters is not whether the treatment works. It is what has been put in your building, where it has gone, and who is at risk from it.
Stored
Product is kept sealed, labelled and locked in the vehicle or the store, never left on a premises between visits and never decanted into an unmarked container.
Handled
Mixed and loaded away from food preparation areas and away from where children and animals spend time, using the protective equipment the product requires.
Applied
Placed where the pest goes rather than where it was seen. In a kitchen that usually means gel bait in a cavity rather than a spray across a surface, and tamper-resistant stations rather than loose bait.
Where we work
South Tarawa, end to end.
Betio, Bairiki, Bikenibeu, Bonriki and everywhere between.
Outside South Tarawa is worth asking about rather than assuming. Travel and timing change what is practical, so tell us where you are and we will say plainly whether we can get to you.
Tell us what you are dealing with.
Describe the problem and we will reply with a real answer, not another round of questions.
